Pilanesberg Entrance Fee and Park Charges

Identify the park charges before comparing a safari

The Pilanesberg entrance fee is separate from a safari vehicle, guide or transfer unless the chosen product explicitly combines those services. Pilanesberg's authority is the North West Parks and Tourism Board, not SANParks. Do not apply a Cape Point or Addo tariff here.

The published tariff document is effective from 1 December 2025. It lists revised visitor and vehicle amounts. Keep that effective date clear when requesting a price for your travel dates, and compare it with the inclusion wording of a guided package.

Selected visitor and vehicle amounts

Do not use the SADC child line as an international child tariff. Confirm the applicable category for every traveller, including the required identity or residence proof, rather than importing a family rule from a different park.

People and vehicles are different budget items

A quoted adult fee does not automatically include your car. Use the category for the actual vehicle or vehicle combination you will bring. Ask how the reservation or safari handles that charge before assuming a camper, transfer vehicle or private vehicle is exempt.

The tariff document also lists a late-exit fee. That is not permission to plan a late departure. Your visit must still fit the gate instructions and the return journey from the wildlife area.

Read the chosen tour's inclusion list

Many collected safari descriptions mention an additional park charge, while other products include particular fees or leave the wording unclear. The price of a guided product is a contractual service price, not a replacement official tariff. Confirm what the selected option covers before paying admission twice or omitting it from your budget.

Keep accommodation and conservation fees separately identifiable for an overnight stay. A room, campsite or lodge quotation should be checked for its actual included services instead of treated as a universal park pass.

Sun City is a separate destination

Resort admission and Valley of Waves access are different from Pilanesberg park entry. A safari departing from Sun City does not establish access to every resort facility, and a resort ticket does not establish park admission. Compare both only when your actual itinerary includes both places.

Information to prepare for a price confirmation

1. Give the date and whether the visit includes overnight accommodation.
2. List ages and the visitor status supported by each person's documents.
3. Name the actual vehicle and any caravan or motor-home arrangement.
4. Identify which safari or accommodation services are already booked.
5. Ask which park charges are included and which remain payable.
6. Confirm the payment arrangements at the intended entrance.

Use the arrival guide to choose the appropriate gate. Do not infer a cash-free rule, an online surcharge or a refund entitlement from the system used by a different park. Keep the confirmed breakdown with the booking so the amounts remain linked to the services you actually chose.

If you select a longer safari, repeat the same check across its actual travel days rather than assuming one admission arrangement covers every itinerary.
